I finally decided to do something about the crazy thin eyebrows that I have.
I started getting my eyebrows waxed at the nail shop during my early teen years.I did not know back then that my hair is naturally thin and sparse, so I was doing more damage than any kind of good. I thought I was cute
too. (We all have been there.)
After years of bad waxing, I finally found someone in 2013/2014 to help me whip my brows into shape. It took about a year of threading and having them “cleaned up” – but, my fine hairs finally formed a cute natural and full shape.
Well, one day my go-to lady was not at the shop and I made the mistake of letting someone else do my eyebrows.
RIP TO MY EYEBROWS – MARCH 2015. She ruined me. She literally threaded off my entire brow tails and left me with little scraps of hair. I WISH I had a picture to show you. But, it was so bad. So. so. BAD.
Well, thank the Lord, it is 2016 and we have so many options these days. I eventually learned how to (well, kind of) fill my brows in with a brow pencil. Then, I graduated and started using an angle brush and brow pomade. I don’t know about you, but I.DO.NOT wear makeup every day. Filling in my sparse brows is so annoying to me. They never look the same as the last time I did them, and quite frankly, I was over the whole thing. I wanted to be able to just GET UP AND GO without having to fill my brows in.
I was scrolling on instagram one day a few months ago and came across a technique called Microblading.
I was absolutely blown away by what I was seeing! A tattoo that looked like hair, not the kind of tattoo that looks like a slug crawled up and laid on someones face. Natural! Natural looking hair strokes.
Of course, I got to researching. I was on a hunt to find someone in Houston to hook me up! Just so happen, a friend of mines on Facebook posted a picture of her brows. I almost scrolled past it until I saw the word, “microblading” in the post. Yesssssssss!
So, long story short, I was referred to Kiki at Bombshell Brows. Kiki did an amazing job!
I am so.so.so happy with my results. I will be going back for a follow up in a few weeks. I am just glad my eyebrows will be on fleek and I can go swimming all summer without having to worry.
